An enthusiastic sports fan, a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur, he also enjoying skiing, tennis, golf and boules. Steve Brine is also a great lover of live music and has often attended The Glastonbury Festival.

Formerly the party's area campaign director for Hampshire, Steve was selected in November 2006 for Winchester, where he has served a deputy chairman (political) of the local Conservative association.
