The structure of SULSIT includes:
  • The Faculty of Bibliology, Information Systems and Public Communications, with seven Departments:
    • Library and Information Sciences;
    • Library Management;
    • Book and Society;
    • Cultural and Historical Heritage;
    • Information Technologies;
    • Communications and Security;
    • Department of Comprehensive Studies.


The curricula for the Bachelor and Master’s Degrees are in line with the requirements of the Higher Education Act and the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

SULSIT trains students in the following Bachelor Programs:
  • Public Communications and Information Sciences and
  • Informatics and Computer Sciences, offering the following:
    • Library Studies and Bibliography (LSB);
    • Library Management (LM)
    • Press Communications (PC)
    • Information Funds of the Cultural and Historical Heritage (IFCHH)
    • Information Resources of Tourism (IRT)
    • Information Technologies (IT)
    • Information Brokering (IB)
    • Information Security (IS)
    • Computer Sciences (CS)
    • Information Technologies in Law Administration (ITLA)


SULSIT trains students in the following M.A Degree Programs:
  • Library Management
  • Library and Information Communications
  • Management of Press Communications
  • Information Technologies and Information Brokering
  • Information Security and Knowledge Management
  • Business and Administrative Information Technologies and Communications
  • Cultural and Historical Heritage in the Modern Information Environment
  • Protection of the Cultural and Historical Heritage in the Republic of Bulgaria
  • Media Information and Publicity
  • Information Resources of Cultural Tourism
  • Technological Entrepreneurship and Innovations in Information Technologies

  • IP Point – information and consultancy centre for intellectual property
  • Centre for Career Orientation and Student Development
