. Built in 1974, St Michael's has historically always housed the maternity services covering the south of the city. Although these services have been consistent, other services such as ENT and Clinical Genetics have also been developed on this site.

The outpatient settings on Level E are large, with the antenatal clinics in particular being busy. The Hospital is also home to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

All patients coming to St Michael's are offered support from the Chaplaincy team. There is a welcoming quiet room for use by all denominations. Trained psychologists support families in the Neonatal Unit and also those learning to live with cancer

The Cots for Tots Appeal

The Cots for Tots Appeal was set up in 2007 by Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal to support special care babies at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol. The Appeal is raising £1 million to provide four intensive care cots and a new intensive care Suite at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital Bristol along with a family accommodation suite close by.
