The South Simcoe Police Service is a municipal police service in Ontario

. It borders the York Regional Police
to the south and Barrie Police
to the north.
The South Simcoe Police Service came into existence on January 1, 1997, when the Innisfil Police Service and Bradford West Gwillimbury Police Service were combined.Initial plans were to include Barrie Police Service, but shortly after talks and negotiations began, Barrie Police withdrew from the tri-service amalgamation.
South Simcoe Police Service provides policing to the towns of Innisfil
and Bradford West Gwillimbury. The Service is also responsible for waterway policing on the Holland River and Lake Simcoe.
The Service has 80 officers and 43 civilian staff members. The service also has a complement of auxiliary officers.
The Chief of Police
is Bruce J Davis who has been the chief since the service's inception. The deputy chief is Allan Cheesman. The service also has one inspector and four staff sergeants.
Chief Davis has pled guilty to charges under the Police Services Act steming from the illegal firing of an officer in 2008. He is to face sentencing on May 17, 2011.
Municipal councillors for The Town of Innisfil have been critical of the 6.75% budget increase for 2011 - with at least one councillor calling for the municipalities to look at other policing options.
On June 13, 2011 Chief Davis announced he'll retire December 31, 2011.

Divisions
The service operates out of two divisions. The South Division is based in a new building located at 81 Melbourne Drive in Bradford; it opened in January 2008 and houses most of the administration staff, criminal investigations branch, identification bureau, communications, and uniform patrol. The North Division has been extensively renovated and is located at 2137 Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil. The Services Traffic and Marine Unit, Victims of Crime (VCARS) and uniform patrol operate out of this building. A community office is located at the Cookstown Outlet Mall at Highways 400 and 89.Special function bureaus
