East Section, is scheduled for completion in 2014. The project is very necessary due to the growing population in the Southern District such as Aberdeen and Pok Fu Lam Estates. However, the project has two phases. The South Island Line West and the South Island Line East are run on different routes. The Western Line is more likely to not be made due to the fact that very few people live on the western edge of the island, where the cliffs are very steep and is just down into the ocean.
