History

Scenarist was originally sold by Daikin, a Japanese chemical company, which eventually partnered with Sonic Solutions for development and marketing in the United States. The software was translated into English and since has become the standard package for DVD authoring in Hollywood. Later in 2001, Sonic bought Daikin's DVD authoring products, including ReelDVD and Scenarist.
