Sonaimuri is a newly established upazila in Noakhali District
, Bangladesh
. It consists of ten Union Councils including Deoti, Amisa Para, Nodona and sonapur. Sonaimuri was declared as an upazila in response to popular demand in 2005. People of all classes live in Sonaimuri, while a lot of people from this area are living in Europe and the Middle East.

Sonaimuri upazilla's mayer Mr. Motaher Hossain Manik. he also born in rampur. rampur is a educated village. In the village 80 percent people is educated. people activities in govt high sector, private and public service sector, businessman,farmer.
So rampur is a most wanted village in the Upazilla.

was born in Bag-Pacra ( বাঘপাঁচরা ) village in Deoti Union. Recently the name Bag-Pacra has been replaced by Ruhul Amin Nagor (রুহুল আমিন নগর) to show honour to his contribution.
Mr. Abdul Hamid (আবদুল হামিদ) who was born in Suraholi village was also a famous general freedom fighter. He died on 6 December 1971 while fighting in the Sonaimuri area.
Captain Lutfor Rahaman ( লুৎফর রহমান) is another prominent freedom fighter of this vicinity.

Deoti ( দেওটি) Union is one of the most important Union councils, consisting of nine wards. Among them, the Eighth Ward contains about five villages like SuraHoli( শুরাহলী ) & Deoti is mentionable for a number of reasons. This union has about ten bazaars including Nandia para, Deoti & Muhurigonj bazar. Muhurigonj Bazar (মুহুরীগন্জ বাজার) Is growing rapidly & now considered as the centre of the Union from political and economic point of view.Nodona

Amisa Para
Amisa Para Union is another mentionable Union council in Sonaimuri Upazila. The late Mr. Kholilur Rahaman was one of the prominent personalities of this vicinity. A lot of institutions like Khulilur Rahaman degree college have been established to keep his memory alive. This Union is very close to Deoti Union council and has very good neighbourhood .
