At the time of Mehmood Ghaznavi's attack on sub-continent the state of Gujrat was held under a Rajput emperor named Bheem Singh Solanki.

, Rajan Pur and Rahim Yar Khan also claim connection with the Solangi tribe. Like other old Sindhi tribes, they are known under the common nomenclature of Sammat. Solangis live in Sindh from Indus Valley Civilization 3300–1700 BCE. They inhabited Sindh when the irrigation system was under development and canals were under construction.
