Athletics

Skyline became a football powerhouse in Utah during the 1990s under Head Coach Roger Dupaix. From 1990 until 2005 the 5A Football State Championship went through Skyline. During those years, either Skyline or the team that beat Skyline during the playoffs won the state championship. Skyline's dominance peaked in 1999 when they won a fifth consecutive 5A state title. The 1999 team is regarded as one of the best high school football teams ever in the state of Utah as they finished undefeated and ranked 24th in the nation by USA Today. Overall, the Eagles have been football state champions fourteen times (1967, 1969, 1970, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1990, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2005). In 2005 the team went into the playoffs as the fourth ranked team in the region. Largely overlooked, they rallied to win four straight games, beating rival Brighton High School in the state championship game.
Skyline's biggest rivals are the Olympus Titans, Highland Rams, Brighton Bengals, and Hunter Wolverines.
Skyline's women's tennis team has been state champions three years running (2009-5A, 2010-5A, and 2011-4A) and took 2nd in 2008-5A. Skyline was one of the original 5A schools, when 5A was established in Utah in 1993, but decreasing student enrollment eventually resulted in Skyline moving to the 4A program in 2011.

Skyline's swim teams hold a seven year dynasty (2001–2008) at the state competition.

Skyline's lacrosse team had its inaugural season as an independent team in the spring of 1997, after competing jointly in 1996 with Brighton High School due to a lack of participation. The team has been a contender for the state championship on a number of occasions. In 2005 Skyline won the state championship.

In 2006, 2008, and 2009 Skyline won the 4x800 meter relay at the Davis High School Track and Field Invitational. The cross country team won their region, both boys and girls teams in 2009.

Skyline's baseball program won an American Legion State Championship in 1991.

Skyline's hockey team won the 2010 State Championship over Viewmont High School and went on to finish in the top 15 at the USA Hockey High School National Championships held in Chicago, Illinois. The hockey team repeated winning state championships in 2011 in a 3-2 overtime victory over Bingham High School. The Skyline High School Hockey team is the only hockey team to have ever represented the state of Utah at USA Hockey's High School National Championships.

Skyline's wrestling team has been undefeated in region duals for 3 years running ( 2006–2009).
