Ma.Singaravelar

He was one of the early leftist thinkers of India in 20th century. He was an advocate by profession and spent his earlier days for the propagation of Buddhism. Being contemporary of freedom fighters, VOC and Balagangadhar Thilak. He was actively participated in railway workers strike and offices of South Indian Labour Union. He is well with Tamil, French, English and German languages. He translated many scientific and leftist books to tamil. Some of the notable translations of him are Das Capital, Natural selection

Around 1932, he and Thanthai periyar-Suyamariyadhai Iyakkam-Self Respect Movement together organised a movement combining the ideological objectives.

He was one of the great freedom fighter; named one of the accused in Kanpur Conspiracy Case and organized South Indian Mill Strike . As part of contribution to Non Cooperation Movement, he burnt his lawyer's robe. He held black flag demonstration against Simon Commission

. At one moment, he was requested to preside over the Kanpur Communist Conference in 1925. During his earlier days, he propagated Buddhism. He hails from Fisherman community. He monetarily helped Subramania Bharathi during his last days. He expired on 1946.
