She has twice won musical awards at the John Kraaijkamp Musical Awards. She won best female lead in a major musical in June 2009 for her role as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard
and previously won an award in 2004 for her role as Donna in Mamma Mia!.
Simone has recently been cast in the Dutch premiere of the musical Next to Normal, in the lead role of Diana Goodman.
