Silleda is a municipality in the Spanish
province of Galicia in Pontevedra and capital of the same.

, and 40 km from the capital of Santiago. It has also access to the highway between Santiago de Compostela and Ourense.

It is a town in continuous growth, especially since the creation of its industrial estate on the outskirts and the ring road.
Silleda Township has many people, being Bandeira (Party of the Pie) one of the most representative.
In addition, the town has many cultural artistic area (Monastery Carboeiro, Romanesque) and high natural value (Fervenzas do Toxa, one of the tallest waterfalls in Spain).
The name of Trasdeza appears already mentioned in the High Middle Ages and the parish of Santa Maria de Cortegada in Trasdeza, contained in documents.
In the seventeenth century referred to the vicariate of the archdeaconry Trasdeza as a dependent of Deza, of the Diocese of Lugo. Trasdeza appears, therefore, as a church name designates that in 1645 the vicariate of the name.

History
Most of their parishes displayed as part of the jurisdiction of Trasdeza, in the seventeenth century, which belonged to the province of Santiago.
