is located within the township. There are no other incorporated municipalities and no named settlements or unincorporated communities within the township.

The St. Joseph River
flows diagonally from northeast to southwest through the township. The township is drained by several small streams and lakes that flow into the St. Joseph. Nottawa Creek passes through the northwest corner of the township, before joining the St. Joseph further downstream in Leonidas township

There were 885 households out of which 31.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.6% were married couples
living together, 10.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% were non-families. 20.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 2.94.
In the township the population was spread out with 25.5% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 29.0% from 25 to 44, 24.7% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 108.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 106.8 males.
