Occupation by security forces

The venue was occupied by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for 18 years during which the city has seen a lot of militant violence, in fact the windows of the dressing room have been shattered due to gunfire.

Revamp

In November 2007, the CPRF decided to vacate the venue. The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association has planned to renovate the stadium. It also plans to conduct first class matches at the ground in upcoming season.
