The single was released in early 2006 in the US. It became a big hit, peaking at #6. In the UK, the song was released as a download only single in April 2006 and managed to peak at #28 on the download chart. Due to the fact there was no physical single release in the UK, the song could not chart in the overall official UK singles chart as chart regulations at that time stated that there must be a physical single release available for a song to chart.
