He was born in December 1970 into a musical family and took up the violin at the age of five. He first played with a symphony orchestra at the age of 10. He appeared at music festivals in Poland, China, Italy, Bulgaria and Finland and recorded several albums, including, at the age of 18, the Concerto in A major by W. A. Mozart and "Il Trillo del Diavolo" by Tartini with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra. He has recorded albums for EMI, Melodya and Agora.

He has appeared as a soloist with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Camerata Academica Salzburg, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the Czech Philharmonie, the Orchestra “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan, the Orchestra della Radio di Lugano and I Solisti Veneti.

In December 2008, Sergej Krylov has been appointed the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra.
