Seminal Rats were an Australian punk/indie rock band, based in Melbourne
, who existed from 1984 until the death of lead guitarist Michael Weber
on 2 January 1999. The band was led by vocalist Michael Harley and included guitarist Ruebin Pinkster, bassist Dave Balsamo (1984–1993), then bassist Ian Wettenhall (1993–1998) and drummer Todd McNeair.
