Seattle Country Day School (SCDS) is a private kindergarten
through 8th grade school in Seattle, Washington
, USA with 328 students. Created for gifted kids, SCDS's inquiry based curriculum not only teaches children facts and information but also how to learn. The school was founded in 1964 by Lucille G. Beckman. The school's campus is on the North side of the Queen Anne Hill
neighborhood, near the Washington State Route 99

The construction project on the new middle school building was completed in 2008. The main office is now in the 4-5 building.
The classes at Seattle Country Day School are question based, so it gives the students a more enveloping learning experience with the classes. In 7th and 8th grade, students get to have "off campus PE", where they go to different places off of campus, such as SANCA (School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts) and skiing
every Friday in the winter.
The students at SCDS have a DI (destination imagination) team that also involves students from Lakeside School
and SAAS
(Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences). They compete with other schools and just last year they went to World Competitions.
The average class size is 10-15 students.
