Seapoint RFC is acommunity based Irish
rugby
club located in Killiney
, County Dublin
. The club also provides a key focal point for players attending rugby schools who live in the Cabinteely/Killiney/Ballybrack and greater Dun Laoghaire area.
Seapoint has a strong emphasis on developing young playes through its Mini & Youths Rugby systems, with many players from the Mini's going on to rugby schools at Secondary level and returning to the club at U-20 level. These are supplemented by the large number of players from the many non-rugby schools in the immediate surrounding area who traditionally make up the clubs youths sides.
In season 2009/2010 they played in Division One
of the Leinster League
, at the conclusion of the league Seapoint emerged as Leinster champions for the All Ireland League Play-offs against the champions of Connacht, Munster & Ulster.
In the play-offs Seapoint faced City of Derry RFC (Ulster), Richmond RFC (Munster) and finally Monivea RFC (Connacht).
Seapoint won all of the games in the AIL Play offs and so for season 2010-11 the club were promoted to Senior club status and as a result meant that they would play in Division 3 of the All-Ireland League.
An amazingly sucssesful first season in the senior ranks in the which the club topped their League for much of the season culminated in Seapoint finishing in Second place in Division Three and the club as result achieved further promotion to All-Ireland League Division 2a for season 2011-12 .
The late Aidan Williams, who served with distinction for many years on the committee of the Association of Referees (Leinster Branch), was honoured with the presidency of that august body in the season 1978-1979
