, Keller began his career at his local club, Zeeburgia, at the age of six. He played regularely for the team before being spotted by AFC Ajax's youth scouts. He was then offered a place in the Ajax Amsterdam Academy a year later, and started training with the club before he had even reached 15 years of age.
In 1999, Keller wanted to play more matches, and therefore he joined FC Utrecht.
