Kalev's modeling aspirations received another major boost the same year when Spencer Gifts, one of the United States' largest retail gift store chains, signed him to a four-year contract as their spokesmodel. Kalev's distinctive images are still marketed by Spencer Gifts in the form of greeting cards, gift bags and key chains.

Kalev's final bodybuilding competitions were local shows in 1998 and 1999, respectively, in Texas, where he won the middleweight class at the 1998 NPC

Training

Sagi Kalev trains between four and five days per week. At the height of 5'9", and the weight of between 200 and 210 pounds, his physique is perfectly situated at the median weight range for traditional bodybuilders. Of his training philosophy, Kalev has stated the following; "My goal is not to be the biggest. It's to be the best. I take very short breaks when I train, usually only 30 to 45 seconds."
