After the U.S.
National Register of Historic Places
program was created in 1966, the site was added to it the same year. It is sometimes referred to as the "Indian Mound."
The site consists of the large 20 foot high temple mound, one smaller burial mound and two shell middens. The site is open to visitors during the daylight hours. In addition to the mounds, the site holds walking paths, picnic areas, a boat ramp, fishing, and fantastic views.
