. As a matter of honour, King George V, the Canadian monarch bestowed on the permanent force portion of the organization the right to use the prefix royal before its name. Thus the CSC became the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals while the militia component was redesignated the Canadian Corps of Signals on 1 Aug 1921.

. At the bottom is a ribbon with the text "Velox, Versutus, Vigilans" and eight maple leaves. The Royal Canadian Corps of Signals was responsible for land communication and signalling.
