the mid 90's saw Ronco Canavese and surround villages fall victim to flooding as the Valle Soana River burst its banks, The Vaults of Roncos primary (and only) bank were washed away, as well as the petrol station situated on the right as you enter the town. Since then the local government has reinforced the rivers banks to ensure the same does not happen again.

French is widely spoken in the town and neighbouring villages as many Parisians have holiday homes in Ronco and surrounding villages. The majority of tourists arrive in July and August to celebrate the festivities.
