In addition, Wadhwani was chairman and CEO of Cimflex Teknowledge Corporation, a company specializing in products and systems for computer-integrated manufacturing. From 1973 to 1981, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Compuguard Corporation.

Wadhwani has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay. He moved to United States in 1969, where he earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
