, Romeo Travis was always playing in front of an international audience. Staying in his hometown, Travis went on to become the University of Akron’s all-time blocked shots leader (161), and finished ranked seventh on the career-scoring chart (1,491) and ninth in career rebounds (783). In 2006-07 as a senior, he was named an Associated Press All-American and was honored as the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year. He was also featured in “More Than A Game”, a documentary that examines the maturation of St. Vincent-St. Mary’s version of the Fab 5.
Travis was a member of the 2003 national champion St. Vincent-St. Mary High School team and averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds during his prep career. He attended St. Vincent-St. Mary high school for his sophomore, junior, and senior year. The Irish were Division III Ohio state champions in his sophomore year and in his senior year they won the Division II state championship as well as the national championship. He was teammate of fellow Zips senior Dru Joyce and NBA phenom LeBron James. Also he played for UA head coach Keith Dambrot for one season.
