History

Rockbridge County High School was built in 1992 to include all students in Rockbridge County and Lexington, Virginia in grades 9-12. This school consolidated the former Rockbridge High School, Lexington High School, and Natural Bridge High School. It is operated by Rockbridge County Public Schools. The school's mascot is the Wildcat.

 Project" which has been sponsored by the RCHS Interact Club. Students voluntarily raised money and school supplies for a technical school in Kenema

 which had been destroyed in a civil war. Through RCHS's efforts, the school has been rebuilt and improved.

Talent Show

The Prowler staff holds a yearly talent show, a popular event and outlet for students to display their various talents. Staples of the talent show include the comical emcee acts in between each act, and the Prowler 5 dance routine. The RCHS Talent Show raises the money needed to print the school's newspaper.

RCHS Student Government

The RCHS student government sponsors a highly successful bloodmobile

, and students contribute an average of 100 pints of blood during this drive. In addition, the student government supports the local food bank and sponsors numerous school spirit activities throughout the school year.

Model United Nations

Rockbridge County High School currently supports 13 Varsity teams, including Cheerleading (football and competition),Wrestling Football, Volleyball, Girl's and Boy's Basketball, Girl's and Boy's Lacrosse, Golf, Swimming, Baseball, Softball, Girl's and Boy's Soccer, Girl's and Boy's Tennis and 8 Junior Varsity teams including Cheerleading, Football, Volleyball, Baseball, Girl's and Boy's Soccer, Softball, Girl's and Boy's Basketball as well as an Academic Team and Athletic Trainers.

Football

The Wildcats are an AA Region III team, and play in the six team AA Blue Ridge District

. In 2006 Rockbridge lost the State Championship to the Richlands High School Blue Tornado, by a close score of 28 - 29.

Academic Team

The Academic Team won the Southern Valley District Championship in 2008.
The team was runner up in the 2010 district competition, and placed third in the regional competition.
