(13 August 1873 – 10 December 1921) was an Irish soldier and politician. He was the son of Lord Adolphus John Spencer Churchill Chichester (son of the Edward Chichester, 4th Marquess of Donegall
) and Mary Dawson of Castledawson
(d. 1924).
Robert Chichester married Dehra Kerr-Fisher
, later member of the Northern Ireland Parliament for Londonderry
and South Londonderry. They had two children;
Lt.-Col. Robert Chichester gained the rank of Major in the service of the Irish Guards
and served in the British Central Africa Campaign between 1897 and 1900. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Irish Rifles. He also fought in the Boer War
.
He held the office of High Sheriff
of County Londonderry
and was appointed High Sheriff of Antrim
in 1911. He was Justice of the Peace
