 on 23 July 1325 but resigned the office on 3 September 1325.

He was archdeacon of Middlesex when he was named Lord Privy Seal on 27 January 1320. He retained the office until 8 July 1323.

He was later named Chancellor of England on 20 August 1323 and lost the office on 16 November 1326 when he was imprisoned.
