party is presently a Member of the Parliament of India
representing Manipur
in the Rajya Sabha
, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. Keishing served as Chief Minister of Manipur from 1980 to 1988 and from 1994 to 1997.
He is also a staunch Christian, and has helped many churches in his home state of Manipur. Keishing also regularly speaks in church and is a much adored orator.
Despite his success, he still remains a humble man. He has been married to Khatingla for over 60 years and they have six children, two daughters and four sons.
Currently, he lives in Delhi as he serves his second term as Rajya Sabha MP.
