Reputation

About one-third of the students are enrolled in the extensive French Immersion program. Approximately 90 percent of students pursue post-secondary education. Richview is also one of the few remaining schools in Toronto that runs on a non-semestered, year-long schedule (meaning all classes last all year on an alternating day schedule). Most schools in Toronto offer semestered schedules.
According to the survey made by the tdsb quality schools, richview is one of the most promising and educational opportunity packed school in Ontario

Courses

Richview offers a range of diverse educational courses, including a French Immersion program. Courses include those in Arts, Business Studies, Canadian and World Studies, Classical and International Languages, English, French, Guidance and Career Education, Health and Physical Education, Interdisciplinary Studies, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences and The Humanities, Broad-Based Technology Education, and Computer Studies.
There are a large number of business based programs for grade 11 and 12 students.

Extracurricular activities

Richview is well known for its strong athletic programs. Richview's sports teams are called the Saints and the school colours are scarlet and gold. School teams compete in badminton, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cricket, cross country running, football, golf, ice hockey, curling, skiing, slo-pitch, soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field, archery and volleyball.

Richview also has an elite power cheerleading team, which cheers at football games, and compete at a national level throughout the year.

The Richview Ski team is one of the only school teams to have been to the Ontario finals (OFSAA), 18 years in a row. In 2010, the boys level 1 skiers placed first in all of Ontario. In 2011, the girls level 1 team placed first in Toronto for slalom, Giant slalom, and combined. The boys level 1's placed 3rd, however the captain qualified on his own for OFSAA. Lead by Mr. A. Nunes, the ski team is one of the school's most successful (yet unacknowledged) team.

The Richview baseball program is well known due to the emergence of Major League Baseball player, Joey Votto. The Baseball team had an excellent season in 2006, winning the West division title, after being winless in 2005. During the 2008 season, the baseball team won the City Championships, the first in school history.

Richview's Football teams are some of the better in Toronto, as both teams won their division and advanced to the cities.

Students may also participate in: Beginner, Intermediate, or Senior Band, Stage Band, Junior Orchestra/Symphony, Senior Strings, Choir, Charity Week Activities, Fashion Show, Volleyball, Tennis, Swimming, Soccer, Cross Country, Track & Field, Athletic Council, Student Council as well as various activities in the dramatic arts such as short plays, the SEARS Drama Festival Production and the Improv Team.

The Environment Club also has funded other groups in the school, in 2009-2010 they raised $462.00 and Half went to help purchase plants to help decorate the outside of the school and the other half went to help purchase a tree that was dedicated to a Richview teacher that died that year.
