Richard David Allan Dodds OBE (born 23 February 1959) is a former field hockey player, who was captain of the gold medal-winning Great Britain team at the 1988 Summer Olympics

After winning an Olympic bronze medal in 1984 and silver medals at the 1986 World Cup and 1987 European Cup, the highlight of his career came when he captained the British team to victory at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Dodds, a mid-field player with Southgate, won 79 caps for England, played 65 times for Great Britain and was awarded the OBE for his services to hockey. He also captained the England
team which won the silver medal at the Hockey World Cup
