Ravensdale is part of the parish of Ballymacaslon and Lordship, however the northern part of Ravensdale is part of the parish area of Jonesboro and Dromintee.The Ravensdale Forest nature trail is located in the wooded demesne of the former seat of Lord Claremont, which straddles the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic. The House was destroyed during the early political troubles of the 1920's.
