He subsequently expanded the farm to 3300 acres (13.4 km²) as well as developing custom spraying and trucking business. He was nominated for the Saskatchewan Outstanding Young Farmer Award in 2005.
Hoback served Chairman of the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association (WCWGA), and represented them at World Trade Organization

and Hong Kong

As an MP, Hoback is a member of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs and Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-food.
