This is a list of Rajput
clans of west Punjab
compiled by census takers for the 1911 census of India. The list is ordered by administrative divisions, starting with the Lahore Division
, and only refers to Rajput
clans who remained Hindu
. Most of these clans have customs similar to the Dogra
s of Jammu
, and the Sialkot
, Gujrat
and Gurdaspur
clans historically intermarried with the Dogras. All the Dogra clans immigrated from territory that became Pakistan
(Sialkot, Gujrat and Shakargarh Tehsil
of Gurdaspur District
) in 1947. Although Gujrat and Shahpour districts were not technically in the Lahore Division
, they have been included due to the cultural links between these clans and those of Lahore Division. The Shahpur District
