Early years

. At the age of sixteen Sultanov started to master the saxophone and performed in the military orchestra for four years during his military service.

In 1992 Sultanov was invited as a soloist

 to Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Symphonic Orchestra. In 1995 he wrote his first compositions “Jokers and Dance” and “Day Off”.

Performances

Rain Sultanov's repertoire included such composers as Pyotr Tchaikovsky or Mozart. In 1997—98, Sultanov performed various compositions of Miles Davis and John Coltrane

in the jazz clubs of Baku and Germany. In 2008 Sultanov completed his two-year work, the album Story of My Land.
