Rahul Bhat was born into a Kashmiri Pandit family in Srinagar and moved to Mumbai to fulfill his dreams in the nineties. He was very active in theatre and dramatics all through his schooling years, participating in all levels of drama competitions and invariably, winning most of them.
Rahul was a very popular student and learnt to please crowds from very early age. Rahul enjoys music and though he is not formally trained, he is very musically inclined.
Rahul started his career as a model and became India’s top model overnight.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has signed actor-producer Rahul Bhat to play lead in his next project, a thriller set in the backdrop of Mumbai. Kashyap decided to cast Bhat because of the actor's understanding of the character, they said.The director wanted to make the flick, which is set in the backdrop of the metropolis, since long and was looking for an actor who could essay the role in a way he envisioned.
