Raa Middle School became a performing arts magnet school in the 2008-09 school year. Students have a choice of drama, band and many more performing arts activities.

Facilities

The school hallways are unusual in that the hallways are half indoor and half outside. The blue lockers are on the left of the hallway and the right of the hallway is outside for about 10 feet until you hit the Media Center.

Faculty

The principal, Donna Callaway, returned for the 2008-09 year to be principal once again. She had previously been the principal from 1994 to 2004, and then served on the Florida's state board of education.

The Media Center is run by Mrs. Brown. She has served Raa Middle School for 35 years.

Sports

The school colors are blue and yellow. The Rams have a tackle football team and flag football team. They also have many sports including soccer and tennis. Raa has also beaten many of the middle schools in the county in its sports.

Our Generation's Heroes

In 2002, "Our Generation's Heroes," a book written by eighth grade students about the stories of people involved in World War II, was published. It started as an assignment for Kathy Corder's social studies class.

2004 Fire

On October 23, 2004, there were several fires set at the school which caused extensive damage (approximately $350,000) to the gym and two classrooms. According to one account, the student who set the school on fire had received threats that boys would beat him up and that he set the school on fire so that he would not have to go to school.
