The Undersecretariat of Public Order and Security}}) of the inistry of the Prime ministry of Turkey is the governmental intelligence organization of Turkey
. Public Order and Security Organization, to combat terrorism and to develop policies and strategies in this regard ensure coordination between relevant institutions and organizations are responsible for an intelligence unit.
Under-secretariat of Public Order and Security has been established within the structure of Ministry of Prime Ministry of Turkey under Law 5952 to ensure productivity and effectiveness in the field of counterterrorism while in coordination with other institutions and also to determine and meet multifaceted needs.
In this framework; in the field of counterterrorism;
- Producing policies and strategies through analysis, observing, researching and evaluating,
- Ensuring the analysis, sharing and effective usage of strategic intelligence from security forces and intelligence agencies,
- Increasing effectiveness and productivity through facilitating coordination between relevant institutions and organizations,
- Informing public opinion through national and international works and gaining public support,
- Fulfilling the duties assigned by the legislation within a framework of superiority of law and respect to human rights are the objectives of Under-secretariat of Public Order and Security.
Under-secretariat has not been established as an independent intelligence agency, and as such does not have any operational activities relating to security.
Under-secretariat of Public Order and Security has been structured as an organization to plan combat against terrorism with a multi dimensional and holistic approach and effectively coordinate by also considering social values and dynamics, to play a pioneering role in minimizing terrorism through its policies and strategies, who adopts superiority of law and respect to basic rights and freedoms as principles. Under-secretariat; has began its works with a proactive approach to produce projects which are open to cooperation, solution oriented, mindful for accurate and effective communication and socially responsible.
