In 1243 the town was established in Lower Silesia

Since 1645, the Evangelical inhabitants of the town belonged to the Friedenskirche (Churches of Peace) in nearby Schweidnitz and since 1741 to the (county) Landkreis Schweidnitz. Until 1773 the Catholics belonged to the Jesuit Church of Schweidnitz.

In 1874 the Weizenrodau Standesamtregister (civil registrary) was established.
