Princess Anne of Denmark (4 December 1917 – 26 September 1980) was the mother of royal photographer Patrick Anson, 5th Earl of Lichfield
, and a cousin of Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom

. Anne had three sisters, two of whom were Nerissa and Katherine Bowes-Lyon. These sisters were later known as the 'Queen's hidden cousins', incarcerated since 1941 for mental disorders. The sisters both lived and one, since died in an asylum reportedly never having received visitors, or financially supported since the 1960s. One sister, Katherine, is still believed to be living [12/2011] in a care home.
