History

In 1905 J.J. Foster erected a lumber mill on the side of a pond at the site of the Village of Presque Isle and named the community Fosterville. William S. In 1955, the village changed its name to Presque Isle when the surrounding township did. The village is currently the site of the Presque Isle Community Center, Presque Isle Fire Department, and Presque Isle Community Library.
