to honour the best Mexican television productions, especially telenovela
s. Instituted in 1983, the award ceremony is held in Forum Mundo Imperial in Acapulco
. The ceremony is broadcasted through Canal de las Estrellas
in Mexico and Latin America and through Univision
in the United States.
