Dr. Prabhakaran Paleri is an India

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of international fellows at the National Defense University, Washington, D.C. in 2009.

Subsequently, he joined the Indian Coast Guard in 1981 on its formation where he held the assignments of Deputy-Director General; Regional Commander, Coast Guard Region (West); and Commander, Coast Guard District (Kerala & Lakshadweep) and (West Bengal), besides commanding the first advanced offshore patrol vessel ICGS Samar and the training ship ICGS Varuna. He is the first recipient of the Tatrakshak Medal. He was awarded the President's Tatrakshak Medal in 2003.
