Swimmers

Over 10,000 swimmers are registered PVS competitors. This is one of the largest local swim committees of USA Swimming. These swimmers compete across approximately 40 different swim clubs in even more facilities. The level of competition across the clubs varies greatly, from recreational swimming to Olympic

Potomac Marlins

The Potomac Marlins are a prominent team in Potomac Valley Swimming. The Potomac Marlins have practices at eight different facilities, and hovers at close to 450 swimmers. The team was started in 1993 by Bill and Barry Marlin who taught a swimming instruction class and has continued to develop and grow over the past 17 years.

Curl-Burke Swim Club

The Curl-Burke Swim Club is not just a team in Potomac Valley Swimming, but also is the #1 ranked team in the country as of 2/20/2010 according to [USA Swimming's Toyota Virtual Club Championships]http://www.usaswimming.org/USASWeb/Report/ReportHolder.aspx?TabId=901&Alias=Rainbow&Lang=en&ItemId=35&mid=2594.  who all won Olympic Gold. With fifteen sites at which to train, Curl-Burke has almost 2,000 swimmers and is one of the most accessible swim clubs in the National Capital Area.

Started by Rick Curl http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/12/18/AR2008121803571.html in 1978, the team has expanded from the focus on competitive swimmers to developmental programs and masters swimming. The many top Senior groups have coaches who are able to train their swimmers 9 times per week, including mornings and Sundays. Curl-Burke's most famous and talented rising star is fourteen-year old 8th grader Janet Hu, who has set 4 National Age Group records throughout her swimming career.

Curl-Burke Swim Club has expanded outside of the beltway and into Prince William County
