PostPanic
Encyclopedia
Founded in 1997, PostPanic is a Dutch hybrid film production company creating unique visual work for the international advertising, broadcast, retail and music industries. Their distinctive visual style has come about through a shared passion for live action, motion graphics, visual effects and 2d/3d animation.

As mixed media specialists, PostPanic's projects are creatively driven and therefore not primarily technique-led. Some are completely live-action based, others focus on a more motion graphic-led execution and some are just a combination of every technique you can think of! That’s why they choose to produce, direct, design and animate themselves so their ambitious ideas stay true to their original vision once in production. The international group of directors share a common graphic design background and are very hands-on, often choosing to work on a certain aspect of the production such as motion graphics, animation or compositing. This is clearly reflected in PostPanic's creative attitude and approach to a project. They are also specialists in integrated project deliverables, meaning they can simultaneously create multiple platform executions of a single visual project (for example, providing television & cinema spots, print visuals, viral films as well accompanying digital assets for websites and mobile. Over the years, PostPanic has enjoyed creating international work for agencies and brands including Nike, MTV, ASICS, Google, MINI, McDonalds, Vodafone, TomTom, Coca-Cola, Disney and Amstel.
At the centre of their collective is PostPanic’s Amsterdam studio, a permanent team of producers and creatives specializing in live action, motion graphics, 2d/3d animation, visual effects and print. They also have a regular network of specialist freelancers that are pulled in depending on the nature of a project. The PostPanic studio is housed in a new building overlooking the river in central Amsterdam and has won attention worldwide for its unique interior architecture. This includes a green screen studio, edit suite and large grandstand for accommodating an audience for PostPanic events - the most famous being PostPanic’s ‘Panic Room’, a bi-annual inspiration evening which has featured some of the industry’s most-respected international creative figures.

History

PostPanic formed back in 1997 when Mischa Rozema, Jules Tervoort and Mark Visser graduated from HKU (Hogeschool Kunst Utrecht

) together.
Their graduation film A Time Of Panic was received to high acclaim and launched their careers in the Netherlands.
The name PostPanic is a reference to life after A Time for Panic.
In 2007, Mark Visser left PostPanic to work on his own projects.

PostPanic moved to larger premises in Summer 2009 which also include extended post facilities. http://www.thecoolhunter.co.uk/article/detail/1658

PostPanic partner with Playgrounds Festival and run their own series of inspiration nights called Panic Room for the Amsterdam creative community. Guest speakers have included Pleix, Radical Friend, Bif, Si Scott, Dvein, Niels Shoe Meulman, Fons Schiedon, UVA (United Visual Artists) and Matt Lambert (Motionographer).

PostPanic launched Panic Program in 2010 - an opportunity to create highly creative projects on limited budgets (reflecting the current economic climate and changing requirements of advertising agencies). Most importantly, Panic Program offers a new generation of emerging talent (including directors, designers, animators and vfx staff) the opportunity to step up and take on more senior roles within a project, supported by the resources and creative/ production experience at PostPanic.
