Poseidon drowning detection system
Encyclopedia
The Poseidon drowning detection system is a computer aided drowning detection system. The system is commonly installed in bathing
areas, such as municipal swimming baths, waterparks, therepeutic baths, and other places where there is standing water in which there is a risk of drowning.
system that uses multiple overlapping views (epipolar geometry, fundamental matrix, essential matrix, etc.) to detect motionless bathers below the surface of the water in the baths.
PoolView (http://www.poolsafetyco.com/poolview.html) uses high definition digital colour cameras and flat screens to provide the lifeguards with multiple and simultaneous views of the total below water area of a swimming pool. The software controlled system also provides perimeter protection for any unsupervised pool area.
DEWS focus on detection of distress signal in the early stage to facilitate timely rescue.
SwimEye uses underwater cameras to detect motionless bathers at the bottom of a pool. SwimEye consists of cameras and high powered computers connected to a water resistant Touch Screen from which the lifeguards can monitor. The lifeguards are issued IP66 handheld radios that receive an alarm in the event of a drowning
