, is situated some 7 kilometres from here. Officially a village, it provides facilities no short of that of a town or a small city. Tourist folks usually visit this peaceful paradise to enjoy some leisure. As of the other parts of Goa, Konkani remains the predominantly spoken language. Porvorim still has a lot of green areas. There is lots of area left for future development. Porvorim now is particularly a residential area with educational institutions around.
it is just crowded with buildings and really small scale greenery .as per the cultural society in concern it has people of every religion .it has a temple of lord shiva,maruti (hanuman)and more.it is just 5 km away from panaji the capital city.

Porvorim is colloquially pronouced 'Parvari'. IT is situated at the banks of River Mandovi, with an excellent view of state capital Panjim as one approached the Mandovi Bridge along NH17, the Mumbai-Goa highway. Porvorim is home to several educational institutions, including the prominent Vidya Probhodhini Education Society, with pre-primary, primary, high school and higher secondary sections.
