 and the floor with black granite and decorated the walls with geometric patterns formed from white, blue-grey, and yellow shades, showing precision of carpentry. This gave the station a very bright appearance.

Once again showing the end of the economical policies in metro, the station has two surface vestibules which lead to Fomicheva and Planyornaya streets, near the Moscow Canal

To the north of the station is the Planyornoye depot which opened with the extension, (and hence relieved Krasnaya Presnya). The station had been the northernmost in the Metro until the opening of Medvedkovo

There was a confusion of pronunciation of the station. Whether said as PlanYOrnaya or PlAnernaya, the former implies the connotation with gliding and aviation (Russian for glider-Planer), the second name however implies to carpentry (i.e. planing) for which the original village, Planyornoe, prior to its annexation into Moscow and rebuilding into a municipality, was famous.
