From 1996 until 1998, Doroshenko was a board trustee at the Soros Center for Contemporary Art, Kiev. In 2002, France awarded Doroshenko with the Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters. In 2007 and 2009, he was the commissioner for the Ukrainian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale
